Vapor Separator Tank (VST)
INSTALLATION
1.
Install VST to intake manifold. Apply Loctite 8831
to threads of attaching screw. Torque bolt to 105
lb. in. (12 N·m).
NOTICE
Refer to “Service Precautions,” in “Repair
Procedures,” BEFORE proceeding.
2.
Connectalllinestocoverofvaporseparatortank.
Torque fuel line fittings to 23 lb. ft. (31 N·m).
REMOVAL

Connect fuel pump electrical connector.

Disconnect fuel pump electrical connector.
With engine off, cycle ignition switch to on,waiting
2 seconds and then off, four times waiting 10 se-
conds after each key off to prime the fuel system
and check for leaks.
Label and then disconnect all fuel lines from cov-
er of vapor separator tank.
NOTE: If VST is dry, remove the vent screw and fill
with fuel.

Disconnect fuel pump electrical connector.

Label and then disconnect all lines from cover of
vapor separator tank.

3. Remove electrical line from retaining clip.

Remove screw from L-joint and pull L-joint from
cover.

5.
Disconnect fuel pump electrical connectors as
follows:

a. Gently pry each side of connector cover up
and over retaining tabs.

b - Intake Manifold
c - Screw
d - Bushing
e - Grommet
b. Remove connector retaining nuts and re-
move connectors.

Remove cover screws and remove cover and
electrical line retaining clip.

Remove screw and VST from intake manifold.

Carefully slide fuel pump assembly from cover.
Remove O-ring, plate, adaptors and collar from
fuel pump.
9.
Remove screen from fuel pump.
Remove plate and rubber cushion.
10.
NOTE: When replacing fuel pump, make certain to
replace with a fuel pump of the identical part number.
