HESITATION, SAG OR STUMBLE
Definition: Momentary lack of response as the throttle is opened. Can occur at all engine speeds.
May cause engine to stall if severe enough.
PRELIMINARY CHECKS
Perform the visual/physical checks as described at the start of “Troubleshooting Charts” section.
CHECK FUEL SYSTEM FOR:

Water contaminated fuel and dirty or restricted fuel filter
Fuel pressure within specification.
Proper functioning of fuel injectors.
Worn throttle linkage.
CHECK IGNITION SYSTEM FOR:

4.
Ignition Control (IC) system for proper timing and advancing.
Faulty spark plug wires, fouled or improperly gapped spark plugs.
Power reduction mode activated (if equipped)
Knock Sensor (KS) system operational.
