NOTE: Some engines may be equipped with drain
plugs in the elbows on exhaust manifolds. Remove
drain plugs only.
NOTICE
Refer to “Cold Weather or Extended
Storage,” “Precautions,” in this section,
BEFORE proceeding.

Engine must be as level as possible to ensure
complete draining of cooling system.
Remove drain plugs (port and starboard) from
cylinder block.

Repeatedly clean out drain holes using a stiff
piece of wire. Do this until entire system is
drained.

NOTE: It may be necessary to lift, bend, or lower
hoses to allow water to drain completely when hoses
are disconnected.

Remove hose or drain cock from bottom of port
and starboard exhaust manifolds.

NOTE: With the engine level, sufficient draining of
manifolds will occur when exhaust manifold-to-ther-
mostat housing hoses or drain cocks are removed.
