4. Remove hose or drain plug from bottom of port
and starboard exhaust manifolds.
DRAINING SEAWATER (RAW-WATER) COOLED
MODELS
NOTE: With the engine level, sufficient draining of
manifolds will occur when the hose or drain plug is re-
moved from the elbow in the exhaust manifold.
NOTICE
Refer to “Cold Weather or Extended
Storage,” “Precautions,” in this section,
BEFORE proceeding.
MCM (Stern Drive) Models:
1.
Engine must be as level as possible to ensure
complete draining of cooling system.
2.
Remove drain plugs (port and starboard) from
cylinder block.

Repeatedly clean out drain holes using a stiff
piece of wire. Do this until entire system is
drained.
NOTE: It may be necessary to lift, bend, or lower
hoses to allow water to drain completely when hoses
are disconnected.
