SERVICE MANUAL NUMBER 24

FUEL INJECTION DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY

CLEANING AND INSPECTION

IMPORTANT: DO NOT immerse the fuel meter cover (with pressure regulator) in

cleaner, as damage to the regulator diaphragm and gasket could occur.

Inspect pressure regulator seating area for damage. Use a magnifying glass if

necessary. If damaged, replace the cover assembly.

INSTALLATION

Install new pressure regulator seal, fuel meter outlet passage gasket, and cover gasket.

Install fuel meter cover assembly.

Install attaching screws, precoated with appropriate locking compound to threads.

(Short screws are next to injectors.)

Torque screws to 28 lb-in. (3 Nm).

Connect electrical connectors to fuel injectors.

With engine OFF, and ignition ON, check for leaks around gasket and fuel line couplings.
