Install timing chain and sprocket or gear on camshaft -align marks with crankshaft.
Install timing chain/gear cover.
Install oil pump and baffle.
Install dipstick tube and oil pan.
Install spark plugs.
Install torsional damper and crankshaft pulley.
Install water pump.
Install belts.
Install flywheel and drive coupler / plate.
Install flywheel housing.
Install starter.
Install new oil filter.
Fill crankcase with oil.
Install engine in boat.
Timing Chain and Sprocket
Removal

Remove torsional damper, oil pan and crankcase front cover.
Turn crankshaft until timing marks on crankshaft and camshaft sprockets are in align-
ment.
NOTE: Flat lifter timing gear is shown. Roller lifter gears have similar timing marks.

Remove camshaft gear or sprocket and timing chain. If gear or sprocket does not come
off easily, a light tap on the lower edge of the gear or sprocket with a plastic mallet should
dislodge it.
Remove crankshaft sprocket or gear if either requires replacement.
