Insert the protective ring 884976 into the outer
propeller shaft seals so that the seal lips are protected
during installation.

Grease the new seal rings and install in the propel-
ler shaft. Turn the steel edge (1) facing forward. Use
special tool 884975. Turn the broad shoulder against
the seal ring. Press until it bottoms.
7.
Carefully insert the outer propeller shaft in the gear
housing. Remove the seal protector.
4.
Turn the tool over and press in the “single lip” seal
ring. Turn the spring facing aft. Press until it bottoms.

8.
Install seal protector 884807 in the bearing box to
protect the seal during installation.
5.
Grease the seal rings and install in the bearing box
with the springs facing away from each other. Use
special tool 884801. Press until it bottoms.
