The nominal measurement of the vertical shaft is
mm. This measurement is added to the cal-
culated pinion measurement of 59.95 mm. This com-
bined distance equals 277.70 mm, as illustrated be-
low:

Subtract the “H”-stamping dimension from the Verti-
cal Shaft Calculated (277.70 mm) to arrive at the
shim thickness:
16. Place the calculated shim thickness (1) in the
gear housing. In this case, it is 0.33 mm. With one
hand, hold the pinion gear and the original pinion gear
nut in the gear together in the housing.

Place the propeller shaft with gear installed in the
17. Center the pinion gear and nut carefully; then, with
gear housing.

NOTE! The groove of the nut must face the pinion

Install the nut on the vertical shaft.
NOTE! A new nut must be used for final assembly.
