Draining Instructions
DRAINING SEAWATER (RAW-WATER) COOLED MODELS
NOTICE
Refer to “Cold Weather or Extended Storage,” “Precautions,” in this section,
BEFORE proceeding.
MCM (Sterndrive) Models:

Engine must be as level as possible to ensure complete draining of cooling system.
Remove drain plugs (port and starboard) from cylinder block.

Repeatedly clean out drain holes using a stiff piece of wire. Do this until entire system
is drained.
NOTE: It may be necessary to lift, bend, or lower hoses to allow water to drain completely
when hoses are disconnected.

Remove drain plug from bottom of port and starboard exhaust manifolds.
NOTE: With the engine level, sufficient draining of manifolds will occur when the hose or
drain plug is removed from the elbow in the exhaust manifold.
