454 CID (7.4L) / 502 CID (8.2L)

Follow step “a” for 454 Mag / 502 Mag / 8.2L and step “b” for 7.4L MPI engines.
a. Carefully install manifold assembly. Torque in sequence to 35 lb-ft (48 Nm).

b. Carefully install manifold assembly. Torque in sequence to 30 lb-ft (40 Nm).

Intake Manifold Torque Sequence For 7.4L MPI Engines
Connect all electrical leads.

Connect hoses to thermostat housing.
Install fuel line into fuel rail.

Connect crankcase ventilation hoses to rocker arm covers. Reconnect throttle cable.

Install distributor. Position rotor and housing to align with marks made during removal,
then install distributor cap.

Install other ignition components and reconnect wires.
Connect any other items which were disconnected from manifold during removal.
Start engine and adjust ignition timing. Check hose connections, gaskets and seals for
leaks.
14.
Inspect fuel line connections for fuel leaks.
