Valve Installation - Head Installed

Place rotator or shim on valve spring seat.
Coat valve stem and new seal with engine oil. Install seal over valve stem.
If taken apart, reassemble damper and valve spring. Place on top of rotator or shim.
Set valve spring assembly and cap in position over valve stem.
Compress spring, using valve spring compressor, and install valve locks (grease may
be used to hold valve locks in place). Slowly release tool, making sure valve locks seat
properly in valve stem grooves.

Install push rods and rocker arm assemblies. Torque to specifications.
Install rocker arm cover and torque to 71 lb-in. (8 Nm). Install spark plugs and torque
to 15 lb-ft (20 Nm).

Place shim on valve spring seat.
If taken apart, reassemble damper and valve spring as shown. Make sure tighter wound
coils of spring and damper are on the same end.
