Lubricate the I.D. of the seal with 2-4-C Marine Lubricant with Teflon.

Place masking tape over the shaft end to protect the seal.
Lubricate the shaft with 2-4-C Marine Lubricant with Teflon.

Slide the seal tube (with the seal installed) onto the shaft and slide the seal tube into the
valve guide bracket.

While holding the seal tube firmly in the seated position in the valve guide bracket, tight-
en the thru-bolts. Torque the thru-bolts to 72 lb-in. (8 Nm).
Remove the masking tape from the shaft end.

Install the inlet flange (a) along with a new gasket.
Secure the flange and gasket with two bolts and lockwashers. Torque the bolts to 132
lb-in. (15 Nm).
