Temporarily install bearing carrier retaining  nut to prevent damage to threads.
Torque pinion screw to 45 lb-ft (61  Nm).

c  - Torque Wrench And Socket
d  - Bearing Carrier Retainer

Remove bearing carrier retainer nut previously placed in unit for protection of threads.
Install upper bearing cup  and tab washer.
