Place top gear and then  thrust collar over shaft.

6.
Press gear and thrust collar down so that groove in shaft is completely exposed. Install
keepers.

7.
Release pressure from  gear. Thrust collar should  come up to the point  where top of
keepers are level with top  of thrust collar at position shown.
