SERVICE MANUAL NUMBER 30

CHANGING

Clean area around drain plug shown.

Remove dipstick

Remove drain plug. Drain oil from transmission into a suitable container.

a - Drain Plug

Check oil for the following foreign matter:

•

Metal Particles - A few small particles are normal. Larger metal chips are an early sign

of transmission failure which indicates the transmission should be disassembled and

inspected for internal damage.

•

Rubber Particles - Indication of cooler hose wear. Hoses should be inspected for

cracks or fraying. Replace damaged hoses.

Coat drain plug threads with Quicksilver Perfect Seal. Install and torque drain plug to

specification.

Refill transmission with specified fluid.
