SERVICE MANUAL NUMBER 30

496 CID (8.1L)

Intake Manifold

Removal

Disconnect wiring harness leads interfering with removal.

Remove gear lube monitor.

Disconnect throttle cable from throttle body.

Remove fuel line.

Remove shift plate assembly.

Remove ECM bracket.

IMPORTANT: It may be necessary to pry intake manifold away from cylinder heads

and block in next step. Use extreme care to prevent damage to sealing surfaces.

Remove intake manifold bolts.

Remove intake manifold and throttle body assembly.

NOTE: If intake manifold requires replacement, transfer all remaining parts to new manifold.
