SERVICE MANUAL NUMBER 30

Coat threads of new head bolts with Quicksilver Perfect Seal and install finger-tight.

a - Cylinder Head

b - Head Bolts

Torque head bolts in three steps, following the torque sequence. First step - 22 lb-ft

(30

Nm). Second step - 120°. Final step - 30° on short bolts and 60° on medium and

long bolts.

Cylinder Head Torque Sequence

Install push rods and rocker arm assemblies in their original positions.

Install intake manifold.

Install rocker arm covers.

Install exhaust manifolds.

Install any components removed from cylinder heads.

Refill closed cooling system and provide adequate water supply to seawater pickup.

CAUTION

Ensure that cooling water supply is available before starting the engine.

11.

Start engine and check for leaks.
