SERVICE MANUAL NUMBER 30

Torque main bearing caps as follows:

a. Inner bearing cap bolts to 22 ft-lbs. (30 Nm).

b. Outer bearing cap studs to 22 ft-lbs. (30 Nm).

c. Inner bearing cap bolts an additional 90 degrees.

d. Outer bearing cap studs an additional 80 degrees.

Check crankshaft end play. Proper clearance is .005-.011 in. (.127-.279 mm).
