Unscrew stud and remove balance shaft drive gear on camshaft as shown.

Remove two TORX bolts retaining balance shaft thrust plate.
IMPORTANT: Care should be taken in next step as damage to cylinder block and/or
balance shaft could result.
7.
Insert pry bar in aft section between balance shaft and cylinder block. Gently apply for-
ward pressure and remove balance shaft.

NOTE: When replacing balance shaft rear bearing, place a cloth in valley to prevent any
debris from entering the crankcase.
