D. Bow Scuff Plate Option
M - 2 WINDSHIELDS
Available on certain models is an optional stainless
steel bow scuff plate. The bow scuff plate is designed
to provide added protection for the bow in addition to
a stylish look. See Figure M-3. Please see your Four
Winns Dealer for further information.
A windshield is standard equipment. Windshields con-
sisting of tempered safety glass and the windshield
frame consists of a painted or polished aluminum. For
easy accessibility to and from the bow, a walk-thru
center windshield is standard. Stainless steel supports
or braces are used in all of the windshield assemblies.

E. Maintenance

The majority of the hardware installed is made of
stainless steel. Regardless of the type of hardware
used, periodic maintenance is necessary.
A low-profile windshield/windscreen is available on
certain specific H series models. The windscreen is
made of tinted acrylic plastic (plexiglass) and creates
an aggressive profile on the water. The windshield
frame is made from black painted/powder-coated alu-
minum. See Figure M-5. Please refer to section
Q-6 Acrylic Plastic (Plexiglass) for the cleaning of
acrylic plastic.
The manufacturer of our hardware recommends the
following when washing your boat:

Rinse the hardware with fresh water after each
exposure to saltwater.
Periodically wash the hardware with mild soap,
warm water, and a sponge. Then dry it with a soft
cloth.

Avoid cleaners, abrasives, waxes, and most of all,
do not use steel wool.
NOTICE
All fittings must be periodically inspected
for loosening, wear, and damage. Problems
should be corrected immediately!
