M - 1     RAILS&DECKHARDWARE
NOTICE
Allfittingsmustbeperiodicallyinspectedforloos-
ening, wear, and damage. Problems should be
corrected immediately!
Hand and bow rails have been installed to provide secu-
rity for passengers while outside the cockpit area (i.e.
swimplatformandbowareas).   Limitingpassengermove-
mentwhileunderwayisrecommended.   Allthoseonboard
should be safely seated whenever possible. Additional
care must be taken when in rough seas or foul weather.
Access to the foredeck should be through the foredeck
hatch when running in adverse conditions.
The cleats that have been installed are specifically de-
signed and are intended to be used as mooring cleats.
Their purpose is for securing the vessel to a dock, pier,
mooring, or anchor.
Therailsystemandhardwarefittingshavebeenselected
and installed to perform specific functions.  Fenders or
mooring lines should not be secured to the rails or stan-
chions. Be certain that a clear lead exists when running
docklinesorananchorline.    Alineinadvertentlythreaded
around a stanchion or over the rail could cause damage.
Four Winns® boats are not equipped with any
hardware designed for towing purposes.   The
mooring cleats that are installed on the boat are
not to be used for towing another vessel or hav-
ing the boat towed. Refer to SectionA- Opera-
tion for additional precautions regarding ground-
ing and towing.
The majority of the hardware installed is made of stain-
less steel.   See Figure M1. Regardless of  the type of
hardware used, periodic maintenance is necessary.
M - 2     TRANSOMDOOR
A transom door is provided and allows access from the
swim platform to the cockpit. A slide bolt is used to se-
cure the transom door. To prevent a possible man over-
board situation, make sure the transom door is secure
before each cruise.
Prevent falls overboard. Close, latch, and stay
inside gate(s) while underway.
To prevent personal injury, swim platform must
not be  occupied and  transom door  must be
closed while engines are running.

Cleaningthehardwarewithanonabrasivecleanerwillhelp
keep the original shine and beauty. Stainless steel hard-
ware,whilequitedurable,canbecomesuperficiallyrusted.
This can be controlled by cleaning the fittings and apply-
ing a coat of wax.  Any future rusting can be easily re-
moved by polishing and rewaxing.
To prevent personal injury,  DO NOT sit on or
lean against the transom door.
