Porta Potti
The toilet is connected to a thru-hull fitting that
is below the waterline and if at any time the
toilet or pipework is damaged, water may flood
in, causing the craft to sink, which may result
in a loss of life. Therefore, after every usage the
seacock MUST be shut or whenever your craft
isunattendedevenforaveryshortperiodoftime.
Certain Vista™ models may utilize a porta potti located
in the head compartment.
Preparation:
Separate unit by sliding the locking lever to the left
“unlocked” position and hold (Figure J8-A). Separate the
units(FigureJ8-B).
Ensure that all users understand how to oper-
ate the toilet system correctly and safely, in-
cluding seacock(s). Take special care to in-
struct children, the elderly and visitors.
NOTICE
Do not put anything in the toilet unless you have
eaten it first except toilet paper. Do not put in:
sanitary towels, wet strength tissues, cotton,
wool, cigarettes matches, chewing gum, or any
solid objects, petrol, diesel, oil, solvents of any
kind or water more than hand hot. See Figure
J7.

With the waste tank (lower section) sitting flat, open valve
by pulling handle out (Figure J9-A).
Add deodorant through the valve opening (Figure J9-B).
UseThetford HoldingTank Deodorant (sample included)
in built-in storage compartment (Figure J9-C).
Add water to cover tank bottom. Close valve and replace
deodorant(FigureJ9-D).

Recombine the unit. Align hinge with front interlocking
tabs. To secure unit, press downward…it should click
into place.
Fill fresh water tank by removing the water fill cap and
fillingthetankwithfreshwater(FigureJ10). (NEVERadd
holding tank chemical to the fresh water tank
assembly.) Replace and tighten the cap securely.

mended cleaning procedure. This literature is included
in the owner’s packet.
