When disconnecting the cables from the
battery, make sure all switches are off
and disconnect the black negative

standard equipment (12 volt DC) per Section H-1. When
installing the battery, proceed as follows:
1.
2.
Connect the red (positive) cable running from the
battery switch to the positive (+) battery terminal.
B.   Battery Switch Operation
Power to the engine and all 12 volt electrical equip-
ment is controlled at the battery switch panel. Sepa-
rate circuit breakers are provided on the battery
selector switch panel to protect the aft bilge pump,
stereo memory, exhaust, and stereo amplifiers (if
applicable). The “SHIP’S SYSTEM” circuit breaker
must be placed in the “ON” position to provide power
to all other non-engine related 12 volt electrical
equipment.
Connect the black (negative) battery cable running
from the  engine block  to the  negative (-)  battery
terminal.

equipment. All other 12 volt equipment is powered
from Battery #2 through the ship’s systems breaker
when activated. Battery #2 will be isolated.

Connect each of the red (positive) battery cables
leading from the battery selector switch to the
positive (+) terminal on each of the two batteries.
Only battery #1 will be charged by the alternator.
NOTICE
“Position 2” (See Figure H2) - Turning the switch
to the 3 o’clock position places the switch at the
“Position 2”. This position allows battery #2 to power
the engine and 12 volt engine related equipment, as
well as, all other 12 volt equipment through the
ship’s systems breaker when activated. Battery #1
is isolated. Only battery #2 will be charged by the
alternator.
Be sure the two red (positive) cables are
installed on the positive (+) battery term-
