Using The Evinrude MFE Outboard
Disengage
TRIM ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
WARNING
Move tilt/run lever to RUN position. Tilt out-
board fully and pull tilt support bracket to “un-
lock” position. Lower outboard.
Boat stability and steering torque
can vary due to changing water con-
ditions. If any adverse conditions
occur, reduce throttle and/or adjust
tilt angle to maintain control. If you
experience boat instability and/or
high steering torque, the outboard
must be serviced to correct these
conditions.
If the bow of the boat plows the
water at high speeds, the boat may
bow steer or spin suddenly, possi-
bly ejecting or otherwise seriously
injuring occupants.

Tilt support bracket – unlock position
The outboard should be perpendicular to the
water when the boat is under way at full
speed. This adjustment can only be deter-
mined by water testing the boat. Set angle ad-
justment for best performance with your
normal load.
TRAILERING
Trailer your boat with the outboard in a verti-
cal position. If your trailer does not provide ad-
equate road clearance, support the outboard
with an accessory trailering bracket.
Place the outboard in full TILT position. Refer

strained when trailering. Bouncing during
transport may damage the outboard and the
boat’s transom.

Turn the angle adjusting rod handle up.
Push in against spring so retainer will re-
lease, then slide rod assembly all the way
out.
