OPERATION
Trailering
Tilt UP
Move tilt/run lever to TILT position.
Trailer your boat with the motor in a vertical
position. If your trailer does not provide ade-
quate road clearance, the motor can be trail-
ered by using the tilt support or an accessory
trailering bracket. Refer to Tilt Support on
page 26.
IMPORTANT: Whenever using the tilt sup-
port or an accessory trailering bracket, the
motor must be restrained. Bouncing during
transport will damage the motor and boat’s
transom.

WARNING
WARNING
If you tilt the engine and leave it tilted,
close the fuel tank vent screw (turn
clockwise) and close the fuel shut-off
valve (turn so handle is horizontal).
Failure to do so might allow fuel leak-
age which could lead to explosion or
fire.
While engine is tilted, leave tilt lever in
the TILT position. When the tilt/run
lever is in the RUN position, tilt support
can release unexpectedly and allow
motor to drop, creating a risk or seri-
ous personal injury or loss of control.
IMPORTANT: Use the tilt grip to tilt your mo-
tor.
