NOTE:
If the sailboat does not move straight ahead
when engine is locked with the steering lock
lever and the boat’s rudder is set straight, re-
adjust the outboard’s steering handle angle
with the adjustment bolts.
If the engine is forced to turn right or left
when the steering is locked, the steering
plate is designed to break to protect the out-
board motor. If the plate breaks, remove the
screw and replace the plate.

Tilt lock mechanism
NOTE:
A spare plate is contained in the outboard’s
original packing.
The tilt lock mechanism is used to prevent
the outboard motor from lifting out of the wa-
ter when in reverse gear.

minimum trim angle of the outboard motor in
relation to the transom.
