INSPECTING FUEL FILTER
WARNING

Gasoline (petrol) is highly flammable,
and its vapors are flammable and explo-
sive.
q If you have any question about prop-
erly doing this procedure, consult your
Yamaha dealer.
q Do not perform this procedure on a hot
or running engine. Allow the engine to
cool.
q There will be fuel in the fuel filter. Keep
away from sparks, cigarettes, flames
or other sources of ignition.
q This procedure will allow some fuel to
spill. Catch fuel in a rag. Wipe up any
spilled fuel immediately.
q The fuel filter must be reassembled
carefully with O-ring, filter cup, and
hoses in place. Improper assembly or
replacement can result in a fuel leak,
which could result in a fire or explo-
sion hazard.

Check the fuel filter periodically.
The fuel filter is a one-piece, disposable
type. If foreign matter is found in the filter,
replace it. For replacement of the fuel filter,
consult a Yamaha dealer.
